Donegal TD’s resignation of party whip paves way for motion of no confidence in government

Sinn Fein will meet this morning to decide if they will go ahead or not with a vote of no-confidence in the coalition.

Donegal TD Joe McHugh resigned the Fine Gael party whip earlier this week over the mica redress scheme, which caused the government to lose its majority.

Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy Rae says he doesn’t think the government losing its majority will cause an election.

The Kerry Independent TD expressed the view the current government have turned their backs on rural Ireland and confirmed that is the vote of no confidence goes ahead he will vote no.
