Good news for Sligo in latest IBAL study



Sligo is cleaning up it’s act  in the battle against latest litter.

 

That’s according to the latest survey by Irish Business Against Litter.

 

Sligo is in 21st position among 40 towns and cities.

 

The survey shows litter levels falling in Sligo town, which is deemed Clean to European Norms.

 

The An Taisce report for Sligo stated that this was another very good and improved result with six of the ten sites surveyed getting the top litter grade. These included O’Boyle Park, Sligo Bus Eireann Station, the Recycle Facility at Connaughton Road and Cartron Viewing Point.

 

The only heavily littered site was Sligo Hospital – while it was somewhat improved compared to previous IBAL surveys, there was still a significant litter presence.

 

Two-thirds of the 40 towns and cities surveyed were found to be clean, among them Naas, which retained its position atop the rankings, ahead of Letterkenny and Cavan.
