Postmasters threaten industrial action

There could be postal disruption in store at Post Offices across the north west.

Postmasters are warning they could stage industrial action over their mounting frustration with An Post and the Government.

They will hold an emergency meeting next Monday to consider balloting for action.

They’re expressing concerns over a lack of investment in the postal service, and planned changes to postal orders and foreign exchange services.

Mary Bohan runs the local Post Office in Drumkeerin.  She’s been telling Ocean FM it’s a course of action that Postmaster are not eager to take, however she says the recent changes to postal orders and exchange services are not being received well by customers.
