Donegal set for Croke Park date with All-Ireland champions Meath

Donegal women’s gaelic footballers will play All-Ireland champions Meath in the Lidl national football league Division 1 final at Croke Park on Sunday, April 10th.

Throw-in will be at 4pm.

Donegal are there thanks to last Saturday’s dramatic 2-8 to 1-10 win over last season’s league winners Dublin in Clones.

The Tir Chonnaill girls have never won a Division 1 league title before – although team selector Mark McHugh says the players will be encouraged about where the real priorities lie this year.

“It’s a semi-final of the league at the end of the day. It’ll be a nice day out at Croke Park in three weeks time – but your aim always at the beginning of the year is the championship.

Them girls know that – but it’ll be a big day for them and a big day for ladies football in Donegal.”

The Division 1 final will be preceded by the Division 2 decider between between Armagh and Kerry at 2pm.
