Upgrade of watermains around Strandhill

Irish Water are upgrading the old cast iron water mains around Strandhill.

Around 3km of old pipes will be removed and replaced with high density plastic pipes.

The utility say this will provide a secure and safer drinking supply and reducing the chance of leaks.

Weeks are due to begin in the coming weeks on a phased basis along the Shore Road from the Airport junction to Strandhill Promenade, from Sandy Cove Estate at the junction of the Old Airport Road to the Rugby Club and along the the Top Road to it’s junction with Buenos Ayres Drive.

Farrans Construction Ltd. will carry out the works with all set to be complete by July this year.
