Sligo man arrested as part of Robbie Lawlor murder investigation

It’s emerged that an associate of Barry Young has been arrested in Liverpool in a major development in the investigation into the murder of Robbie Lawlor.

The man, who is originally from Sligo, was taken into custody by police in Merseyside earlier this week.

According to the Sunday World, a source has described the arrest as ‘extremely significant” and said the Sligo man is suspected of playing “an integral role” in the murder of Robbie Lawlor.

He will now be questioned by the PSNI within the next few days after being flown into Belfast.

The arrested man is said to be well-known to Gardai in Sligo and has previously appeared before the courts on drug charges.

It’s also reported that he’s a known associate of drug trafficker Barry Young who is currently serving an 11-year sentence for drug dealing.
