Sligo Rovers ban supporter

Sligo Rovers have confirmed that they’ve banned a club supporter from future Rovers matches following incidents during last Friday night’s Premier Division game against St Patrick’s Athletic in Dublin.

While the club hasn’t gone into detail on what happened, it published a lengthy online statement this afternoon, prompted by recent incidents at home and away games around the league.

The full statement can be read here.

The club also confirmed a state-of-the-art CCTV system, which includes a pan-tilt-zoom to monitor three sides of the stadium will be used on match nights and monitored by An Garda Síochána.

The statement reminds a small  minority of fans that antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated by the club.

Rovers host Dundalk in their first home league game of the new season on Saturday night at the Showgrounds.

You can listen to Sligo Rovers v Dundalk on Ocean FM on Saturday from 7:45pm in association with Davey Motors Toyota Sligo.
