Grammar to face Jes in school’s rugby final

Sligo Grammar School will face Coláiste Iognáid (The Jes) in this year’s Connacht Senior ‘A’ Cup school’s rugby final.

Following their 18 points to 6 semi-final victory over Marist College, Athlone on Wednesday, James Gavin’s charges awaited the result of today’s semi-final between The Jes and CBS Roscommon.

In what was a tight contest at Crowley Park, the Galway city school kicked a last minute penalty to seal victory and ensure a repeat of the 2011 final, a match that the Jes won by 23 points to 13.

The final will take place on Tuesday, March 15th at The Sportsground in Galway.
