Fran Faulkner memorial 5K in Manorhamilton this Saturday

The second annual Fran Faulkner memorial 5K run takes place this Saturday, March 5th, in Manorhamilton.

The event is being held in memory of the late Fran Faulkner who was a hugely popular community figure in north Leitrim.

She died from cancer in 2019.

Her family decided to organise a run in her memory to raise money for local charities.

The two chosen charities for the 2022 edition of the race are North West Hospice and Sligo Cancer Support Centre.

The event is pre-dominantly a social event – and is open to runners and walkers of all abilities.

Fran’s husband Neil spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s PJ Leddy about this weekend’s event.

Registration for this year’s race opens on Saturday morning from 10am at the Bee Park Community Centre in Manorhamilton.

The run begins at 12 noon.

Entry costs €10 for adults and €5 for children.
