Donegal Junior Soccer League celebrating 50 years



The Donegal Junior League is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

As part of the celebrations, the Donegal Junior is planning a few events to mark the occasion.

On Friday, March 4th, FAI President Gerry McAneney will unveil a Commemorative plaque in the clubhouse at the league’s headquarters, Diamond Park in Ballyare at 6:30pm.

Former players, committee members, current clubs and other relevant persons have been invited to the the function in Ballyare.

Following this, the soccer takes centre stage.

On the same evening, the first semi-final of this year’s Brian McCormick Cup between Bonagee United and St. Catherine’s will kick-off at 7:45pm.

The two semi-final’s of the Voodoo Venue Cup will take place on Saturday. Dreenan, Ballybofey is the venue for Finntown Harps AFC and Oldtown Celtic, while Carrickboyle, Gweedore plays host Ramelton Mariners and Strand Rovers. Both games will kick-off at 1pm.

The second semi-final of the Brian McCormick Cup takes place at Flag Pole Field in Rathmullan as Keadue Rovers and Kildrum Tigers go head-t0-head at 1pm.
