871 new cases of covid -19 were detected in the local franchise area in the latest 14 day incidence figures which were released on Christmas Eve.
The infection rate per 100.000 of Population was set at 1344.3. None of the local areas surpassed that rate of infection.
The Donegal Local Electoral area recorded the most cases with 220. The R figure was 830.4.
The local electoral area with the highest level of infection was Sligo Strandhill where the rate was found to be at 908.7 192 cases were detected here.
Sligo Drumcliff returned a figure of 888.3 with 157 new cases being detected.
The Ballymote Tubbercurry area had the lowest rate of infection for all 5 local electoral areas with a figure of 785.6 and 210 cases.
In Leitrim there were 92 found in the Manorhamilton LEA – a rate of infection which was found to be at 850.2
