Dr. Breslin’s appeal to people in NW — please continue to adhere to basic measures

As the Omicron variant of Covid-19 spreads, the HSE’s director of public health in the north west has issued a renewed appeal for people to continue to adhere to basic prevention measures.

Dr Anthony Breslin’s appeal comes as people are expected to gather this Christmas week.

He particularly warned about people with symptoms who get an antigen test which is negative, leading them to think they don’t have Covid.

He says people with symptoms should isolate, even if an antigen test comes up negative.

Dr Breslin says basic prevention measures remain as important as ever — if not more so.
