Daniel supports Mica campaigners as protesters seeking 100% redress gather in Dublin



Donegal singer Daniel O Donnell says it’s heartbreaking to see people having to fight for the replacement of their homes that are cracking and disintegrating because of building blocks affected by Mica.

He was speaking as people from throughout the north west travelled to Dublin today for a major protest — expected to be attended by thousands — demanding 100% redress for homeowners.

Donegal is particularly badly affected by MICA while there are increasing reports of houses in Mayo and Sligo showing the effects of pyrite.

Daniel O Donnell says this issue should have been dealt with long before now.

Earlier today, there were severe delays on Dublin’s M50 after protesters involved in the mica campaign held a go-slow demonstration.

The protest, which has since ended, caused long tailbacks, came ahead of the planned march in the city centre.
