1.6 million euro announced in non-public road funding



Over €1.6m has been announced for repairs and improvement works on non-public roads in Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon and Donegal.

 

Donegal is to receive €697,456, €270,000 for Leitrim and Sligo has been allocated €276,154.

 

Eligible roads for funding are those that provide access to agricultural land.  Non-public roads leading to amenities such as graveyards, beaches and mountains.

 

The funder falls under the Local Improvement Scheme and represents a 5% increase on last year.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Dr Bláithín Gallagher, and national Coordinator of the Green party says the funding will help upgrade the transport infrastructure in the North West.
