Sligo Gardaí are reminding motorists with tinted windows that there must be a minimum level of light allowed to pass through.
Gardaí are issuing the reminder after a number of vehicles were stopped by the Roads Policing Unit this week with excessively tinted windows.
65% of light must be able to pass through a window for it to pass an NCT with Gardaí able to check this on the roadside.
Gardaí say the windows can create enforcement issues such as the use of mobile phones and not wearing seatbelt.
