Unsettled weather in store for the North West



The North West is likely to experience some falls of snow in the later part of this week.

The National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management is working with local authorities to ensure the country is ready for a “severe weather response”.

A national Weather Advisory for cold weather is currently in place until Wednesday, however it’s expected that although it will be cold locally all week, snow falls are not expected until at least Wednesday night in the counties of Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim.

Linda Hughes from Met Eireann says that only isolated wintry showers will impact the North west in the early part of the week:
