93 additional Covid-19 deaths confirmed by Department of Health



The Head of the HSE says teams are under ‘unrelenting strain’ in hospitals and the community because of Covid 19.

 

Paul Reid says anyone who dismisses the seriousness of the illness is spreading ‘nonsense,’ which he says is insulting to patients, staff and their families.

 

93 additional Covid related deaths were confirmed last night, along with 2,001 new cases.

 

While 1,897 people are in hospital with the disease and 206 confirmed cases are in ICU.

 

There are 38 people being treated for Covid-19 at Sligo University Hospital and 120 at Letterkenny University Hospital.  There are 8 patients in the North West currently in ICU units.

 

90 additional cases were reported in Donegal yesterday, 15 in Sligo and less than 5 in Leitrim.
