The HSE is being asked for information regarding the provision of an ophthalmic service in a new medical centre due to open shortly in Carrick on Shannon.
This service was previously in Carrick before it was moved to Sligo University Hospital.
The calls have been made by Leitrim Fianna Fail Councillor Sean McGowan, who says such a facility would benefit the entire county of Leitrim and take pressure off Sligo University Hospital during the Covid 19 pandemic.
