The Sligo/Leitrim Garda Division are conducting a week long operation targeting the unauthorised use of disabled parking bays in Sligo Town.
Operation Enable is supported by Sligo County Council, Sligo joint Policing Committee, the Disabled Drivers Association and the Irish Wheelchair Association.
The aim is to increase awareness around those with disabilities and highlight the difficulties in the face in their every day life that people may not realise.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Superintendent Mandy Gaynor of Sligo Garda Station says there is no excuse for parking in disabled spaces.
