Calls made to establish fund for local farmers

The President of the IFA is calling for a payment for North West Farmers that would be similar to the Brexit fund that the French Government are proposing for French fishermen who would be worst impacted by Brexit.

Tim Cullinan said that the sector worst affected by Brexit would be Irish farming and that espically includes farmers in the North West.

Speaking to Ocean FM, Mr Cullinan says the IFA has campaigned strongly in Brussels to ensure that this fund was put in place and he’s called on the Irish Government to make sure that they don’t now get out-manoeuvred by other countries.
