A Sligo/Leitrim TD says if civil servants are receiving full pay, they should be working full hours.
It’s after it emerged that 345 civil servants have been working reduced hours throughout Level 5 restrictions but receiving full salaries.
The workers are within the Property Registration Authority.
Fianna Fail Deputy Marc MacSharry was criticised in the summer for saying some public sector workers were using the pandemic as an excuse to “lie on the couch and watch box sets.”
He says he doesn’t blame the staff, but people should be working full hours for full pay:
