Level 3 restrictions to be reviewed by NPHET on Thursday



The Health Protection Surveillance Centre confirmed 60 new cases of Covid-19 for the Counties of Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim yesterday.

 

39 new cases were confirmed in Donegal, 13 in Sligo and 9 in Leitrim.

 

There were 720 new cases registered in the three counties over the past 14 days with 565 in Donegal 115 in Sligo and 40 in Leitrim.

 

The 14 day incidence rate per county which is calculated per 100,000 head of population shows Donegal at 354.9. Sligo at 175.5 and Leitrim at 124.8

 

The National Public Health Emergency team will make a call on Thursday on whether or not Level 3 is working.

 

The national 14 day incidence rate is now 167 per 100 thousand people, a 43 percent increase in the past week.

 

 

Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan says Level 3 has had some impact in Dublin, where it’s been in place for four weeks.

 

However, he says cases are beginning to grow in the capital again.
