GAA unveils Covid-19 club education programme



The GAA has published details of its Covid-19 club education programme in preparation for a retrun to collectie training at the end of the month.

From the 29th of June, clubs can train in groups of 12, including Players, Managers and Covid supervisor, There are discussions ongoing to decide whether this will be increased to 15, which will bring it in line with Government guidelines. This will be non-contact training only. In this regard the following points are worth noting:

  • The Player Injury fund will not be effective until the 29th of June.
  • A Covid Supervisor has to be appointed and will have to complete the elearning module prior to the 29th of June.
  • The elearning portal is due to be available from the week beginning 15th of June.
  • There will also be a webinar for Covid supervisors that can be viewed by any GAA member to provide assistance and Guidance and this will also take place next week. Further information on both the elearning portal and the Webinar will follow once times and dates are confirmed.

Phase 4 will commence on the 20th of July. Clubs teams can return to contact training and this can include Training games and/or Challenge games. All Dressing rooms and Meeting rooms will remained closed until August the 10th.  Club competitions will commence on Friday the 31st of July.

The GAA’s Management Committee (Coiste Bainiste) will meet on the 23rd of June, after which the schedule for inter-county games – completion of the National League and the 2020 championships – will be revealed.
