Concerns raised over increase in traffic in Summerhill Village



Concerns have been raised over the increase in the volumes in traffic in the Summerhill Village area of Sligo.

In particular there has been a significant increase in the volume of traffic on the College side of the village.

It’s been claimed that some commuters are using a through road via the college as a fast track of into Sligo Town.

Local Residents claim that this route should only be used by school staff and students for drop offs and pick up’s

As a result of the increased traffic local residents are experiencing difficulty in accessing their properties and parking close to their homes.

Local Fine Gael Councillor Thomas Walsh has called on the local Authority to address the situation.
