After more than 30 years, the McGinley family have finally moved out of the Connaughton Road Car Park in Sligo Town.
Four generations of the extended Traveller family have lived in the publicly-owned, local authority car park.
For years, there have been unsuccessful efforts to find alternative accommodation acceptable to the family.
However, Sligo County Council has now confirmed that they have relocated to a recently renovated facility in another part of Sligo town, at Alma Terrace in Finisklin,
Yesterday evening, members of the family moved out, bringing the last of their four caravans with them.
Soon after, Sligo County Council, using a JCB, moved large concrete boulders to secure the entrance to the car park.
