April trolley figures at Sligo, Letterkenny hospitals the highest since records began

Over 10 thousand people were waiting on trolleys in hospitals last month — the worst April on record.

The figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation are an 8 per cent increase on April 2018 and a 125 percent increase on the same month in 2006 when records began.

The April figure for Sligo University Hospital was 446 and 420 for Letterkenny University Hospital, both figures the highest since 2006.

INMO General Secretary Phil Ni Sheaghdha says she has no confidence in HSE management or the Minister for Health.
