A Donegal TD is calling for a full written report into what he says was ‘a seven-hour delay’ in mobilising Aer Corps helicopters to fight the recent gorse wild-fires in West Donegal.
Fianna Fail Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher says Donegal County Council had to get a private helicopter earlier, adding that when the Aer Corp helicopter arrived, it played a significant role in controlling the fire.
Deputy Gallagher says protocols must be in place to manage wild fires.
