Minister Creed urged to intervene in Donegal vets crisis.

The shorting of large animal vets is having a very negative impact on farmers in the north west especially those in the County of Donegal.

The local agricultural sector is continuing to struggle  with the shortage of suitably qualified vets for a period of time and the situation has also not been helped with the closure of a number of rural Practices.

Donegal Sinn Féin TD Pearse Doherty is calling on the Government to do more to help Donegal farmers experiencing difficulties accessing veterinary services.

Deputy Doherty will raise the issue with the Minister for Agriculture in the Dáil later this week.

Speaking earlier to ocean FM Deputy Doherty outlined how many new vets ae concentrating on small animals and with the government recruiting more vets to deal with the possible consequences of Brexit, large animal vets are in very short supply.
