Passport representations: Our job is to help constituents, says Donegal TD

A Donegal TD is defending his actions in making 138 representations on behalf of constituents to the passport office.

In total, politicians made 4,252 representations, with Donegal’s Pat the Cope Gallagher topping the list, followed by Kerry independent TD Michael Healy Rae and the Minister for State for Rural Affairs Michael Ring.

Representations are continuing to be made to the passport office despite calls from the Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney for the practice to end.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Pat the Cope Gallagher says the majority of interventions were made due to a number of applications getting held up in the system.
