Sligo has achieved “Cleaner than European Norms” status in the latest survey of litter levels by Irish Business Against Litter.
The North West Town has climbed 12 places to 8th overall in the rankings of 40 towns and cities.
Eight of the ten sites surveyed in Sligo received the top litter grade.
Donegal’s Letterkenny finished 19th in the overall nationwide league table.
