Traffic lights are out of order in Sligo Town at Junction S8 near the new Lidl store.
Sligo County Council are advising motorists that are travelling in that direction to be aware and drive safely.
Diversions are in place by turning right off the relief road at Ballast Quay Junction and to make their way on Finisklin Road.
There was also a crash this afternoon at Church Hill.
The incident involved two vehicles at junction S5 on the SLigo Inner Relief Road.
It was dealt with swiftly by Sligo Gardaí and traffic has now returned to normal in the area.
No one was injured in the crash.
