Councillor: Anti-social behaviour cannot be tolerated



A Sligo councillor says the message needs to go out that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in housing estates throughout the county.

Sinn Fein’s Chris McManus says the problem is ‘quite serious’ and ranges from the low-level to the serious.

He is calling on the council to seek court exclusion orders where necessary banning those causing problems from a house or an estate.

He made his comments this week during a council meeting discussion on a draft Anti-Social Behaviour Strategy.

In the past few years, the council has sought just three three exclusion orders, two of which were granted.
