The Garda Representative Association has given a ‘cautious’ welcome to the site announced for the new Garda Regional Headquarter for Sligo and the North West.
On Friday, the Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan confirmed that the site has been secured in Caltragh, with documents confirming the acquisition to be signed in the coming days.
It’s a long-awaited announcement considering recent reports which have deemed the current conditions Gardai are working in in Sligo town as ‘sub-standard’.
