Residents in Forthill fear they will have no internet or phone this Christmas

Residents in Forthill in Sligo Town fear that they’ll be left with no internet or phone line over Christmas.

Up to 15 houses in St Edwards Terrace have had no coverage since Monday.

Sligo County Council said in a statement yesterday that “Damage was caused to service cables during works at Fr O Flanagan Tce.”

The Council said the cables belong to Eir and that the company was due to return and fix the problem today but residents say they are still broken.

Noelle Coyle lives in the area, and she says it’s now causing a real inconvenience….
