People in the North West are urged to check their lottery tickets as a €1m winning ticket was sold in Leitrim.
The winner is now Irelands newest millionaire after winning in the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ of the Euromillions draw which took place on Friday.
Londis in Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim sold the winning ticket yesterday and the owner, Kevin Kennedy says that they are ‘absolutely delighted’ to have sold it.
Back in may of this year, the same shop sold a €2m winning ticket with Mr Kennedy further stating that ‘It proves lightening can strike twice’
As the town is known as the ‘Stag and Hen Capital of Ireland’ and that the ticket was sold on a Friday, the winner could have travelled from anywhere in the country.
