A Donegal TD is calling for the Tenant Purchase Scheme to be made more flexible so that more people can benefit from it.
The scheme is to enable local authority tenants buy their homes.
But Fianna Fail Deputy Charlie McConalogue says restrictions in the scheme at present make it far too restrictive, with the result that very few peopel get approval.
He says some people were unsuccessful because they were solely dependant on social welfare payments.
