‘Sex for sale in apartments and hotels throughout the region’

Sex trafficking and prostitution is a serious problem in the north west, with brothels being advertised throughout Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

That’s according to the group Ruhama, which supports victims of sex trafficking.

According to its 2016 annual report just released, it supported 92 victims last year.

Most had been sexually exploited in brothels, massage parlours, including in hotel rooms and apartments.

Ruth Breslin, of Ruhama, says it’s a problem, not only in the cities but also in small towns throughout the region.
