Another rainfall warning in place for the North West until tomorrow



Met Eireann has issued a fresh rainfall warning for Donegal and the North West counties this evening.

Around 200 homes were destroyed and roads and bridges were washed away when 80 mm of rain fell in just a few hours on Tuesday night.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for Sligo, Leitrim, Mayo and west Galway valid until 3pm tomorrow (25th).

Totals of 25mm are expected, with the potential for 35mm on higher ground.

The same warning has also been issued for Donegal, valid from 6pm today until 6pm tomorrow. Higher ground is particularly at risk with the potential for up to 40mm of rainfall in 24 hours.
