Calls for clarification on future of Sligo respite centre



There are concerns over the future of the Solas respite centre in Sligo town.

Independent councillor Marie Casserly says parents have expressed concern and it follows cuts to the respite service there and under-staffing over the years.

Councillor Casserly is to raise the issue at a meeting of the Sligo Municipal District today.

The Solas Children’s Respite Service in Sligo town opened in 2009 and provides respite to children with a learning disability and autism in the Sligo/Leitrim area.

Ocean FM News is awaiting a reponse from the HSE on the issue.
