Soldiers from north west among those arriving home from Lebanon this afternoon



Three soldiers from the north west will be among 190 who will return this afternoon to Dublin Airport after six months UN service in the Lebanon.

The troops, from the 53rd Infantry Group, will land at Terminal 1 at Dublin Airport.

In Lebanon, they were stationed in a volatile area about seven kilometres from the boundary between Lebanon and Israel.

They conducted extensive patrolling throughout the area of their operations in addition to monitoring the boundary line.
