Almost 300 people turned out to support keeping the post office services in Ballygawley last night.
Despite the cold weather there was a great turn out as postal services in the area come under threat and locals took the chance to voice their support.
The service is under threat following the death last month of postmaster Colm McTiernan.
An Post confirmed to Ocean FM that there is now a vacant contract and the issue is out to public consultation.
It’s expected to take three weeks before any decision is taken on the future of the post office.
Paul McTiernan is the son of the previous postmaster and he told Ocean FM Ballygawley post office is an important part of the community.
