Donegal drew with All-Ireland finalists Galway in Sunday’s Allianz Football League Division 1 game at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny.
The home side were five points up at one stage in the opening half but then went 35 minutes without scoring.
With time almost up, Galway had the chance to snatch victory with a Paul Conroy narrowly sailing wide.
Donegal, who were without their injured captain, might have won had it not been for a number of wides at key moments in this game.
Before throw-in, the main stand at O’Donnell Park was renamed in honour of former Minister, Dr James McDaid (pictured), for his contribution to the host club St Eunan’s and Donegal GAA down through the years.
