Sligo Councillor backs calls for defibrillators to be fitted in Garda stations & patrol cars



A Sligo Councillor is rowing in behind calls for all Garda stations and patrol cars to be installed with defibrillators.

 

It had been expected that a nationwide rollout, providing Gardai with the lifesaving equipment was getting underway at the beginning of this year however, there’s a question mark over whether this has happened or not.

 

Often, Gardai are first on scene at an emergency and it’s thought that having defibs on hand would be worthwhile.

 

Sligo Sinn Fein Cllr Thomas Healy is  also a member of the Sligo Joint Policing Committee says it’s vital that there’s more urgency with the initiative:
