A number of projects in Sligo and Leitrim will receive funding in the latest round of Clar funding announced today by Minister Heather Humphreys.
In total €343,458 in funding will be made available for sixteen projects in Co Sligo & Leitrim.
Projects funded under the scheme include playgrounds, public lighting, walks, community gardens, sporting facilities and school safety improvements.
€50,000 is being allocated to the Ballymote Community Park, to upgrade public toilets to make wheelchair accessible and to Riverstown Park Committee for the erection of low energy LED public lighting around the walking track.
€45,000 Will go to the St Fernan’s GAA, Club to increase car parking and to the North Sligo Playground (Grange), to upgrade playground safety fencing and play equipment.
Tubbercurry GAA will also receive € 45,000 provide drainage and ducting and installation of lighting around the walking path.
€46,350 has been earmarked for Cloonacool Community Park, installation, and commissioning of four floodlights for their training pitch.
€40,095 will be made available for the North Sligo Athletic Club, to put in a kerb around running track, drainage replacement of existing poor lighting to LED heads.
€22,013 will be paid to Coolaney/ Mullinabreena GAA, installation of 2 ball stops.
In Leitrim 50.000 has been made to the Leitrim Way, to create a pedestrian diversions route to the yellow river bridge and adding ‘rock armour’ to the banks of the river.
The Drumkeeran GAA Club have received 46,350 for the development of a walkway around the existing GAA facilities and looped walking trial.
Other projects to benefit in Leitrim include
Drumshanbo Vocational school where €25,176 has been allocated to provide public lighting from the School to the end of the road at Carricknabreac.
Kinlough Community Garden, will receive €11,112 to extend the current garden to include a new polytunnel and raised beds.
Junior Minister and Sligo Leitrim TD Frank Feighan says the investment will help enhance many projects based in the north west.
