Foreign Affairs Minister acknowledges North West worst affected by passport debacle



Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney has acknowledged that people in the North West and West of Ireland are worst affected as it relates to the ongoing passport debacle.

 

The processing time for first time passport applications continues to be an issue despite the passport office turning over thousands daily with staff said to be working round the clock.

 

Minister Simon Coveney was responding to questions in the Dail on the issue from Independent TD for Galway East Sean Canney who called for a passport office be established in the west.

 

Minister Coveney says that the key objective is moving the entire system online which will ultimately solve the issues long term:
