Pringle backs moves to remove religious influence from sex education



A Donegal TD says sex education in Irish schools should be fact based and free from any religious influence.

 

Independent Deputy, Thomas Pringle made the comments in the Dáil in support of the Social Democrat’s Sex Education Bill which aims standardise sex education in schools.

 

The Donegal TD says it’s time to acknowledge that Ireland has many different cultures and religious beliefs.

 

Deputy Pringle says the current system alienates those who are non-practicing Catholics or of a different faith.
