A group from Leitrim is planning to travel to a mining site in Tyrone this Sunday to tell a company that’s seeking a prospecting licence for gold in Leitrim that it’s not welcome in the county.
The group Treasure Leitrim says the trip is in solidarity with people in Cavanacaw in County Tyrone, where mining is taking place.
Jamie Murphy, of Treasure Leitrim, says they’ll be joined by groups from other parts of Ireland who are concerned about mining in their areas.
