No ATM Machine for Ballymote

A campaign aimed at retaining the Bank of Ireland ATM machine in Ballymote has failed to secure the desired result, despite over 1,000 signature  calling for the services to be retained.

In March Bank of Ireland announced it was closing several of its branches in the country including those in Ballymote and Tubbercurry.

It’s now being reported the branches along with others across the north west will close on October 8th.

Former councillor for the Ballymote and Tubbercurry Municipal District and Ballymote native Keith Henry says the lack of a bank in Ballymote will have a negative on the business potential of the town.
