Work to start on Collooney to Ballisodare footpath in July

Works on a new footpath between Collooney and Ballisodare are to begin in July.

It’s expected to take 10 weeks to complete the route along the R290 that will include upgrading public lighting and 522m of new footpath from the roundabout in Ballisodare towards Collooney.

€200,000 has been provided under the Jobs Stimulus Plan and is part of an overall €115m allocation.

Cathaoirleach of Sligo Drumcliffe, Fine Gael Councillor, Thomas Walsh says the works will improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists along the route.
