North west MEP says lack of broadband contributing to rural decline



A north west MEP says the government need to explore the prospect of accelerating the National Broadband Plan.

Chris MacManus met with representatives from NBI who indicated they were open to discussing speeding up the rollout.

It’s scheduled to take a total of 7 years however, during the meeting the prospect of doing it in 5 years was discussed.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Chris MacManus says the lack of broadband has contributed to the decline of rural communities.
